The Lookout

I’ve heard that exercise boosts creativity.

My third novel marathon begins this Friday.   At eight o’clock sharp the writing will begin – 40 writers in a room with their laptops, typing away the hours, the silence will envelope us and we will focus.

However, I have stared at the end of a sentence for god knows how long, the lovely silence lulling me into a stupor that I can’t seem to shake.

What to do….

The venue this year is conveniently located at the base of the Lookout,  the high point of Huntsville that opens up to views that will take your breath away.

It’s the hike up to those views that might kill you.  But, the surefire way to break through writer’s block is to push yourself!  Exercise! Get moving!

To get moving on writing your novel, get moving physically.

So, when I’m staring at the page, searching my brain for the next sentence, the next thing that HAS TO HAPPEN, I just won’t sit there and stew….

I will go up the Lookout this year.
